Un Eventail: Picasso's Stylistic Evolution in Cubism
In 1962, Éditions Leda in Paris released a prestigious portfolio that stands as a testament to the technical mastery of French printmaking and the intimate bond between Picasso and his secretary, Jaume Sabartés. This collection features ten vibrant pochoirs after Picasso’s earlier works, documenting his cubist stylistic evolution. Each was meticulously executed by Daniel Jacomet, whose specialized hand-stencil technique captured the exact texture and pigment density of Picasso’s original gouaches. Complementing these is a striking “after” lithograph printed by the legendary Atelier Mourlot, the world's premier lithographic studio.
The portfolio, which included an insightful foreword by Picasso’s close personal friend and secretary, Sabartés, was released in a limited edition of only 260 copies on luxurious Arches paper.
