About

Patrick Nagel (1945 - 1984) was an American artist and illustrator best known for his imagery of beautiful women in a distinctive style derived from art deco and pop art.  Nagel's popularity grew with his illustrations for Architectural Digest, Playboy, the cover artwork for Duran Duran's album, Rio (acclaimed as one of the top album covers of all time), and countless commissioned advertisement posters. Nagel's women were iconic and shaped the trends and style of the late 1970's and 1980's.

His original paintings, serigraphs, and posters are on permanent display in the Library of Congress, the Smithsonian Institution, the Musee des Arts Decoratifs, and the Musee de L'Affiche, in Paris.

Stanley Fimberg commissioned Nagel and subsidized the printing costs to create an advertisement poster, encapsulating the imagery of success in the real estate investment business.  "Stanley Fimberg Enterprises" represents only the third time Nagel did not include a figure and only one of four utilizing metallic inks.  Fimburg himself chose the architectural aesthetic to represent logic, careful calculation, and measurement.

This edition was limited to just 1000 signed in screen copies, released as the sixth collaboration with Mirage Editions in 1979, and printed by Jeff Wasserman of Wasserman Silkscreen.
