In 1970, Picasso collaborated with printer Gunther Dietz to achieve the extraordinary: a print that feels exactly like a drawing. Using the revolutionary "Dietz process," these pieces were created not with ink, but with the actual charcoal, crayon, and pencil used by the artist. The result is a stunning textured work that captures the relief and "messiness" of Picasso’s own hand. Picasso contributed to the development of this technique and supervised the creation of each print from this portfolio.
Drawn from the artist's personal 1964 sketchbooks, Le Goût du Bonheur features 71 playful, erotic, and energetic images of friends and loved ones, including many self portraits. This limited edition was released by Picasso's top publishers (Abrams, Cercle d'Art, and Schüneman) just three years before his passing.
