"Is Your Trip Necessary. Needless Travel interferes with the War Effort" from the Office of Defense Transportation Propaganda poster urged Americans to conserve energy and resources to further the war effort abroad.
This poster was originally distributed by the U.S. Government's Office of War Information. The OWI operated from June of 1942 through 1945 by reaching civilians and military alike through newspaper, posters, photographs, film, radio, and other forms of media with a mission of promoting favorable information about the war and wartime efforts at home, solidifying a unified sense of patriotism in the American people.
