Michael Jeffrey Jordan was born on February 17, 1963 in New York but grew up in North Carolina, competing at a young age in sports.
After high school, Air Jordan went to the University of North Carolina (UNC) for 3 years and began to show the world his ball skills!
UNC won the NCAA Division I championship in ‘82, with Jordan scoring the final basket needed to win over Georgetown University.
He was also the NCAA College Player of the Year in 1983 & in 1984
Selected third overall by the Chicago Bulls in the 1984 NBA Draft, behind Hakeem Olajuwon and Sam Bowie
In his rookie year, MJ posted an average of 28.2 points per game that helped him earn the NBA Rookie of the Year Award and began his first selection to be an All-Star
During the 1986-87 season, Jordan became the first player since Wilt Chamberlain to score more than 3,000 points in one season.
MJ and the Chicago Bulls earned their first title in 1991 that led to their first historical three-peat championship.
And again accomplished another three-peat championship winning in 1996, 1997 and 1998
Jordan had 25 game winning shots in his NBA career with plenty of buzzer beaters and highlight dunks to add to his NBA resume
MJ Chicago win their 6 NBA Championships but most importantly he changed the sport by becoming such a dominant force.
Jordan is still ranked Top-5 of All-Time in most points scored by an NBA player
