About

During the height of The Jimi Hendrix Experience's career, promoter Bill Graham selected Winterland over his flagship Fillmore Auditorium to accommodate three sold-out nights in 1968. These landmark performances showcased Hendrix at his most experimental, debuting material from "Electric Ladyland" with unprecedented improvisational freedom. The sessions later appeared on the posthumous "Live at Winterland" collection. A memorable highlight featured Jefferson Airplane bassist Jack Cassidy joining for an extended 16-minute rendition of "Killing Floor." This BG140 postcard represents the collaborative artistry of designers Rick Griffin and Victor Moscoso, with Griffin's signature scarab beetle motif prominently featured. Two variants were produced: Type A displays a postage stamp box, while Type B features Bill Graham's event calendar on the reverse.
