Join the Swamp Kings with this player issued, 2006 University of Florida NCAA Football Championship ring! This 10k gold ring was made by Herff Jones and is the last of the gold rings awarded by the NCAA due to changes regarding gift values. The left shank features the Florida Gators logo, the team's 13-1 record and the BCS Championship game final score, Florida 41 - Ohio State Buckeyes 14. The right shank depicts the Gator's stadium with "THE SWAMP" underneath.
The 2006 Gators season would prove historic, the team was celebrating the tenth anniversary of their 1996 Football Championship and the 100th anniversary of the program. The Gators faced the toughest schedule in the nation, but 2nd year Head Coach Urban Meyer would set the team on a course for greatness, winning their 7th SEC Championship, and 2nd BCS Championship with another to follow in 2008. Florida would go on to win the NCAA Basketball Championship, marking the first time a school won both sport's titles in the same year.
