Evert Pieters was born 1856 in, Netherlands to a destitute family. He is known as one of the pre-eminent painters of Dutch Impressionism. He specialized in impressionistically rendered delineations of mothers, children, laborers, fishermen, and beaches. During his lifetime, Pieters delighted in universal notoriety and displayed it as often as possible in Europe and the United States. Evert Pieters is represented in several vital collections within the Netherlands, counting the Katwijks Historical center, Vocalist Exhibition hall, Regal Museum of Fine Arts, as well as the Art Institute of Chicago.
