About

From the show that set Jimi Hendrix on the path to a guitar god, this is a limited edition artwork created from the photographs taken by rock photographer Colin Beard at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967. This show launched Hendrix's fame with his unconventional guitar playing, groundbreaking use of fuzz and feedback, and his guitar-burning finale. The show is also widely credited with launching the hippy movement into the mainstream; Jann Wenner, a founder of Rolling Stone magazine later said, “Monterey was the nexus – it sprang from what the Beatles began, and from it sprang what followed.”

This limited edition photo from the show is archivally printed on heavy cotton rag paper, with hand-deckled edges.
