1998 Detroit Red Wings Stanley Cup Ring

Staff issued 1998 Detroit Red Wings Stanley Cup Championship ring crafted in 14k yellow gold with diamonds and rubies by Diamond Cutters International. Awarded to key staff members of the organization, it commemorates the Red Wings’ second consecutive Stanley Cup victory and their place among the NHL’s elite dynasties of the late 1990s. This staff ring is notable as it is the exact same as the player issued versions. The ring was originally awarded to team Masseur Sergei Mnatsakanov, who was in the vehicle with Vladimir Konstantinov and Fetisov in the tragic 1997 limousine accident that paralyzed both Konstantinov and Mnatsakanov.

In 1997–98, the Detroit Red Wings repeated as champions, defeating the Washington Capitals in a four-game sweep to claim their ninth Stanley Cup in franchise history. Led by stars Steve Yzerman, Sergei Fedorov, Brendan Shanahan, and goaltender Chris Osgood, Detroit posted a dominant regular season and playoff run that cemented their status as one of the most talented teams of the era.
