Historic 10k gold ring that was awarded to running back John Riggins, upon his induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1992.
John Riggins was a rugged, no-nonsense running back who powered through a 14-year NFL career (1971–1985) with the New York Jets and Washington Redskins. The bruising “Diesel” rushed for 11,352 yards and 104 touchdowns on 2,916 carries, earning a reputation as one of the toughest, most productive backs of his era.
A key figure in Washington’s championship run, Riggins earned Super Bowl XVII MVP honors after rushing for 166 yards and a dramatic game-winning touchdown in the Redskins’ 27-17 victory over the Miami Dolphins. He was a Pro Bowl selection and remains one of the most iconic power runners in league history.
