This is the third of Riggin's Hall of Fame rings, as the Hall will gift all surviving members with a new ring anytime the official ring design changes. There have been three versions of the Pro Football Hall of Fame ring from 1963 to present.
Riggins enjoyed a storied 14-year NFL career, rushing for 11,352 yards and 104 touchdowns on 2,916 carries. A bruising, no-nonsense back known as “the Diesel,” he powered the Washington Redskins to victory in Super Bowl XVII and earned Super Bowl MVP honors. He was a Pro Bowl selection and a cornerstone of championship football in both New York and Washington.
