From the birth of a dynasty, this is a genuine, player-issued San Francisco 49ers Super Bowl ring from the 1981 season. Bold and classically styled, this ring is made of 10k gold and weighs approximately 40 grams and has been sized in 11 ½. Centrally featured are over 2 carats of diamonds carefully laid into the shape of a football, surrounding a central 90-point diamond. The diamonds are circled by the year “1981” and text “San Francisco World Champions.”
The 1981 season marked a turning point for the 49ers franchise, bringing them their first franchise Super Bowl victory after 32 seasons in the NFL. Under the command of Hall of Fame QB Joe Montana and coach Bill Walsh the Niners finished the season with a 13-3 record. In the playoffs Montana threw one of the signature passes in NFL history, "The Catch." A last-minute TD pass to Dwight Clark to best the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC Championship. Over the following thirteen seasons the Niners would dominate the NFC West and win 4 more Super Bowls, making this ring a notable piece of football history.
