This original 1928 New York Yankees World Series Champions Hamilton "Piping Rock" watch is a prize find for the discerning Yankee fan. Only 35 of these watches were made by the Hamilton Watch Company, thirty engraved with the the player's name were distributed to the team. Others went to the MLB commissioner, the owner Jacob Ruppert and the last was this watch, gifted by the owner to the logistical mastermind behind the Yankees train travel, Neil Mooney. Mooney was the director of the "The Flying Yankee Special" and Assistant Passenger Traffic Manager of New York Central Lines. The owner was so impressed with Neil's work managing the teams travel he insisted on gifting him his own watch engraved in the same style as the players. These watches are extremely rare with only 4 surfacing for sale in recent memory, most notably Lou Gehrig's, which sold for $340,000 at auction.
