About

As seen on Pawn Stars, this magic projector provided one of the most popular forms of entertainment from the 18th century until the mid-20th century. Using an artificial light source and a combination of lenses, these devices enlarged small transparent images and projected them onto a wall or screen. These projectors, or lanterns, provided 2-D imagery that eventually led to early incarnations of the motion picture. The lens in this projector was manufactured by Alphonse Darlot of France.

This projector works and is in amazing shape with no holes or rips in the boot. The boot is 21" extended x 7.5" tall x 5.5" wide. All of the doors open. While most projectors were decorated simply, this one is ornately decorated with brass handles and wreaths. Included with the projector are multiple glass slides from the era of various images.
