In this example, it was payable "Six months after Ratification of a Treaty of Peace between the Confederate States and the United States. " The note depicts a milkmaid at left, a locomotive with black smoke in the center, white paper, black print, and a plain back. The date is hand-inscribed, the serial number is hand-inscribed, and the signature is hand signed.
