This late 15th-century Tachi represents a significant example of traditional Japanese sword craftsmanship. Designed with the pronounced blade curvature characteristic of the Tachi style, this weapon was engineered for mounted cavalry combat and worn suspended from the belt with the cutting edge oriented downward. The accompanying Saya features refined decorative elements, including gold mon inlays and expert wrapping that reflect the weapon's historical importance.
