Vintage longbow from Bear Archery handmade by Nels Grumley, estimated to be from 1944 to 1947. Crafted from Osage wood with a hand signed signature from the famed bowmaker Grumley, its ideal for collectors and traditional archery enthusiasts.
Bear Archery was first known by the name Bear Products Company and founded in 1933 primarily as an advertising print supplier to the auto industry. Although Mr. Bear made bows for himself and friends, it wasn’t until 1938 when Fred hired Nels Grumley that the Bear Products Company expanded to include bows.
