About

Vintage Regency TR-1 Transistor Radio in Mahogany color with gold accents pieces.

A few different worldwide companies (including a then-fledgling Sony) were tripping over themselves to bring transistor radios, the genesis of portable, handheld personal music devices to commercial markets. Regency & Texas instruments joined forces for more intuitive and affordable model. The due debuted the TR-1 in 1954, ostensibly making rock and roll accessible to the masses and allowing generations of baseball game attendees to keep one ear on the AM broadcast.

Dimensions: Approx. 5” x 3” x 1.5”

Sony TR-63 Black
