The Keuffel & Esser Company also known as K & E, was a drafting instrument & supplies company founded in 1867 by two German immigrants, William J. D. Keuffel & Herman Esser. It was the first American company to specialize in these products. All telescope lenses on this instrument, except the outer surfaces of the objective and eyepiece lenses are treated with a coating. Which increases the transmission of light, coated lenses reflect a purple color from their surfaces. This piece comes with a wooden hardcover case for telescope.
