We are extremely proud to present for sale this genuine player ring from Super Bowl I awarded to a player from the Green Bay Packers. This is the "Holy Grail" for sports collectors, a true piece of not only sports history but American history. The ring is made from 14k yellow gold and features a centrally mounted diamond. The left shank features the NFL shield and the scores from the World Championship game as well as the NFL Championship game (equivalent of today's conference championship). The ring belonged to a notable long time Packer and member of the Pro-Football Hall of Fame.
At the time the contest had not yet earned the moniker "Super Bowl" and was referred to as the "AFL-NFL World Championship Game." Held in the Los Angeles Coliseum on January 15th 1967, Vince Lombardi's Green Bay Packers with Hall of Fame QB Bart Starr handily defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 35-10.
Another Super Bowl I ring that did not belong to a Hall of Famer sold for over $216,000 at Heritage Auctions in 2022.
