The primary differences are that this ring is gold plated with CZ's, Montana's was issued in solid 10k gold with diamonds.
Super Bowl XVI was the 49'ers first franchise Super Bowl victory. Under the command of Hall of Fame QB Joe Montana and coach Bill Walsh the Niners finished the season with a 13-3 record. In the playoffs Montana threw one of the signature passes in NFL history, "The Catch." A last-minute TD pass to Dwight Clark to best the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC Championship.
