Obverse: Morgan's Beautiful Silver Dollar Design of Lady Liberty is illustrated in a classically styled profile portrait, wearing a Phrygian cap and crown inscribed "LIBERTY," with an array of leaves, flowers, and grains decorating her hair. The image is surrounded by the inscriptions "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and "1885," along with thirteen stars.
Reverse: Features an eagle with its wings outstretched, holding an olive branch and three arrows in its talons, with a laurel wreath curving below. Inscribed "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "IN GOD WE TRUST" and "ONE DOLLAR." Below the wreath is the mint mark "O" for New Orleans.
