Unique set of a $50 & $20 scrip note from the Town of Paris with hand signatures from the various town officials. A relic of the Civil War and an interesting period in US currency where localities took it upon themselves to issue their own currency. In this case the goal was to procure funding to raise a volunteer regiment for the Civil War as detailed on the note.
