This original 1943 OWI Poster No. 42 featured the five Sullivan brothers: George, Francis, Joseph, Madison, and Albert.  All served together on the light cruiser USS Juneau during WWII and were killed in action when their ship was sunk by a Japanese submarine on November 13, 1942.  The Office of War Information released this poster to urge American's at home to stay vigilant in their support for the troops abroad.

This poster was originally distributed by the U.S. Government's Office of War Information.  The OWI operated from June of 1942 through 1945 by reaching civilians and military alike through newspaper, posters, photographs, film, radio, and other forms of media with a mission of promoting favorable information about the war and wartime efforts at home, solidifying a unified sense of patriotism in the American people.

Condition Report:  The original fold lines, as issued by the U.S. Government, are still apparent but is in otherwise excellent condition given it's age.  Please contact us for any additional information regarding the condition of this item.
