Saturday Night Fever (1977) — Cast-Signed One-Sheet Movie Poster

One-sheet movie poster from one of the most culturally significant films of the 20th century, signed by eight members of the cast and authenticated by PSA. Saturday Night Fever launched John Travolta to superstardom, produced one of the best-selling soundtracks in history, defined the disco era, and was selected for the United States Library of Congress National Film Registry as "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant."

Saturday Night Fever — the film that defined an era

Released on December 16, 1977, Saturday Night Fever was a phenomenon on a scale that is difficult to overstate. Directed by John Badham and starring John Travolta as Tony Manero — a working-class Brooklyn kid who escapes the harsh realities of his life by ruling the dance floor — the film grossed over $90 million domestically and became the highest-grossing music film in history at the time. Its soundtrack, featuring the Bee Gees' "Stayin' Alive," "Night Fever," and "How Deep Is Your Love," is one of the best-selling albums of all time and won the Grammy for Album of the Year. Travolta received his first Academy Award nomination for Best Actor — describing the film as "the blueprint for everything that happened to me." In 2010 the Library of Congress selected it for the National Film Registry, confirming its permanent place in American cultural history. Travolta said: "It put me on the map. It solidified my abilities as an actor to the masses." John Travolta's white suit and the Bee Gees' soundtrack are as inseparable from the 1970s as any image or sound from that decade.

Eight cast signatures — the complete Brooklyn neighborhood

This poster carries signatures from eight cast members — covering nearly every major character in the film. John Travolta leads the ensemble as Tony Manero; Karen Lynn Gorney is Stephanie, his dance partner and eventual confidante; Donna Pescow is Annette, Tony's would-be girlfriend whose arc is one of the film's most emotionally devastating; Martin Shakar plays Frank Jr., Tony's older brother and the priest whose crumbling faith mirrors Tony's own disillusionment; Paul Pape plays Double J, the most volatile of Tony's friends; Lisa Peluso, Bruce Ornstein, and Bert Michaels round out the ensemble that populated the Odyssey disco and the streets of Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. Together they form the complete world of Saturday Night Fever — and their signatures on a single original one-sheet is a remarkable assembly.

Condition Report: Having spent time in a poster frame, there is minor damage to the corners of the poster and along the outer edges — consistent with extended display.
