Although the image created by Norman Rockwell (titled Homecoming G.I.) originally appeared May 26th 1945 on the cover of the Saturday Evening Post, just three weeks after the war's official end, this poster was commissioned by the U.S. Treasury later that year. As part of their 8th and final war bonds drive, now called "Victory Bonds," the poster helped raise funds to bring home the troops still abroad after the completion of World War II.
Condition Report: The original fold lines, as issued by the U.S. Government, are still apparent but is in otherwise excellent condition given it's age. Please contact us for any additional information regarding the condition of this item.
