Get Smart Framed Memorabilia — Three Cast Signatures: Don Adams, Barbara Feldon & Edward Platt

This is a remarkable piece of classic television history — a professionally framed Get Smart display bearing the authenticated signatures of all three principal cast members: Don Adams (Maxwell Smart / Agent 86), Barbara Feldon (Agent 99), and Edward Platt (The Chief). With both Don Adams (d. 2005) and Edward Platt (d. 1974) now deceased, a three-signature display from the complete original triumvirate of Get Smart is an extraordinary find — and Edward Platt's signature in particular is among the rarest in classic television memorabilia.

Two of three signers are gone — why this display is irreplaceable

Edward Platt — whose exasperated portrayal of The Chief became one of the great straight-man performances in television comedy — passed away on March 19, 1974. In the 50-plus years since, authenticated examples of his signature have become genuinely scarce on the collector market, and a verified Platt autograph on a Get Smart display is something serious collectors actively seek. Don Adams — whose comedic genius as Maxwell Smart earned him three consecutive Emmy Awards — passed away on September 25, 2005. With both men now gone, Barbara Feldon is the only surviving member of this trio, and a display bearing all three signatures together represents a combination that can never be replicated. This is a permanently closed window.

Get Smart — the greatest spy comedy ever made

Created by Mel Brooks and Buck Henry, Get Smart aired on NBC and CBS from 1965 to 1970 and brilliantly lampooned the spy genre at the height of James Bond mania. Don Adams' Maxwell Smart — Agent 86 of CONTROL — was one of the great comic creations in television history, a magnificently incompetent secret agent whose catchphrases ("Would you believe...?", "Sorry about that, Chief", "Missed it by that much!") became a permanent part of American comedy culture. Adams won three consecutive Emmy Awards for the role. Barbara Feldon's Agent 99 was his brilliant, elegant, and endlessly patient partner — a character who defied 1960s television norms by being both more capable than the male lead and genuinely central to the show's success. Edward Platt's perpetually exasperated Chief — forever on the receiving end of Smart's catastrophic mishaps — completed one of television comedy's great trios. The series won seven Emmy Awards across its five seasons and has remained beloved by new generations of fans for six decades.
