The Ohio State vs Michigan football rivalry is one of the biggest in sports. Dating back to 1934 the Buckeyes have commemorated wins over their rival with awards of gold pants to the players and coaches. The pants are a homage to Coach Francis Schmidt's famous quote when asked about the team up North, "they put their pants on one leg at a time, just like the rest of us."
