Player ring from the 1982 Stanley Cup winners, the New York Islanders. Made in 10k yellow gold by Balfour this ring also includes the original presentation box, a rarity with rings of this age. The ring features three prominently mounted diamonds representing the teams three consecutive Stanley Cup in 1980, 1981, & 1982.
This ring belonged to defenseman Steffan Persson, who played 9 seasons with the Islanders. Persson helped clinch the 82' series with an assist to Mike Bossy on the final goal of game 4, completing the sweep over the Vancouver Canucks. This was the Islanders third consecutive Stanley Cup, making the Islanders the first (and to date only) US team to win three consecutive NHL Championships.
