1970 Super Bowl V Baltimore Colts - Player Ring

A remarkable piece of NFL history: the Super Bowl V championship ring of Baltimore Colts wide receiver Jimmy Orr, crafted in 14K gold and set with diamonds. This ring commemorates the Colts' 16–13 victory over the Dallas Cowboys on January 17, 1971, at the Orange Bowl in Miami — a game that capped Orr's storied 13-year NFL career in fittingly championship fashion.

Orr, a two-time Pro Bowler and one of Johnny Unitas's most trusted deep threats, spent his final 10 seasons with Baltimore after beginning his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Fans knew the southeast corner of Memorial Stadium's end zone as "Orr's Corner," where he hauled in dozens of his 66 career touchdown catches. Super Bowl V, decided by Jim O'Brien's field goal with five seconds remaining, closed out Orr's playing days with the first Super Bowl championship in franchise history — and his first NFL title since joining the Colts. Jimmy Orr passed away on October 27, 2020, at the age of 85.

A Career-Capping Championship

Super Bowl V was Jimmy Orr's final game in the NFL. After thirteen seasons and 400 career receptions, he retired a champion — making this ring the definitive closing chapter of his playing career and a centerpiece for any serious Colts or vintage NFL collection.

Player-issued rings from this era of professional football are exceptionally scarce, predating the larger production runs of modern championship jewelry. Rings from the early Super Bowl era rarely surface on the collector market making this a collection defining piece for any Colts fan.
