Original hat issued to the crew of the USS Hornet as part of the Apollo 12 Capsule Recovery Mission. Features original buttons with slogans "Hornet plus three" and "Three more like before" referring to the three astronauts recovered from the command module. The mission was carried out by the early Underwater Demolition Team Divers, creating a connection with today's Navy SEALs.

The USS Hornet CV-12 was one of America's most decorated warships, recovering both Apollo 11 and 12 missions she also played a key role in WWII. The Hornet and her crew were credited with the destruction of 668 Japanese planes in aerial combat, sinking 1 carrier, 1 cruiser, 10 destroyers, 42 cargo ships and an assist in the sinking of the super battleship Yamato.
