Wonderful piece of maritime history this is a genuine 1800's manually operated foghorn manufactured by the Straits Steamship Company. The foghorn is a plunger style model, and the user would push the plunger down to make the foghorn sound. During periods of inclement weather this could be a taxing job as the user would be forced to keep periodically sounding the horn to alert sailors. 

Dimensions: Approx. 22" x 9" x 4.5"

Note: Foghorn shows signs of natural wear & tear. Cosmetic flaws to the exterior such as scruff, scrapes, and dings. The sound of the horn is soft likely due to deterioration of the rubber seal on the inside. Please contact us directly for more information regarding the condition of this item.
