Originally appearing in the 1945 Looney Tunes cartoon "Odor-able Kitty", the adventures of the amorous French skunk that are so widely known and loved (in which a female cat inadvertantly gets a white stripe painted down her back...) actually began in a 1949 Academy Award winning short entitled "For Scent-imental Reasons".
