Pay homage to the prestigious university of Stanford with this rare 1972 Stanford Rose Bowl salesman's sample ring. This ring is an exact match to that issued to player Bill Meyers (who would go on to coach in the NFL from 1982-99) in every way aside from the gemstone (this ring has an imitation stone). This is an exceptional find and was acquired directly from a former Josten's salesperson. These rings were manufactured on the same machines using the same dies as the originals, making it nearly indistinguishable from the player issued ring!
The ring features a red stone and bears a golden "S" logo, circled with gold words "Stanford Rose Bowl." Left shank features Meyers Helmet #75" & the right shank features a football stadium with the text "Indians". Interior band is stamped "Josten's 10K".
The 1972 Rose Bowl was played on January 1, 1972 and was the 58th Rose Bowl Game. The Stanford Indians defeated the Michigan Wolverines 13-12.
