About

A bona fide piece of aviation history these are original photos and schematic diagrams of the Apollo 11 command module obtained from a NASA employee who worked on the program. The collection contains various engineering photographs and schematics depicting the control surfaces of the module that would carry the first humans to the moon.

Apollo 11 launched on July 16, 1969. Aboard were astronauts Commander Neil Armstrong, Command Module Pilot Michael Collins, and Lunar Module Pilot Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin. It landed on the Moon on July 20, 2969 at 4:17 p.m. EDT, with Armstrong reporting “Houston, Tranquility Base here–the Eagle has landed.”
