Matched set of Alaskan Mammoth Tusks

This impressive true matched set of mammoth tusks is from a bull male mammoth and one of the most complete set we have ever seen. A matched set of tusks is extremely rare and these are an absolutely stunning piece. They have been beautifully preserved in the permafrost from Alaska, and have a blend of colors of cream, tan and brown. From the Late Pleistocene Age.

The left one - measures 10 ft. 1 inch weighs 96.8 lbs. The right one - measures 9 ft. 1 inch weighs 93.8 lbs. Scientific name Mammutus primigenius better known as the woolly mammoth.

The word mammoth was first used in Europe during the early 1600s, when referring to maimanto tusks discovered in Siberia. John Bell, in 1722, said that mammoth tusks were well known in the area. They were called "mammon's horn" and were often found in washed-out river banks.

At the present time it is ILLEGAL to sell and ship ANY Mammoth Ivory in ANY form to New Jersey & New York. Both states ban the sale, trade, barter and purchase of all ivory, including fossil ivory. The legislation also bans the sale of Rhino Horns. Effective July 1st, 2016 it is also illegal to sell and ship ANY Mammoth Ivory in ANY form to California. Sales Price includes freight shipping within the domestic US.
