Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec (French 1864-1901) was a painter, printmaker, illustrator, draughtsman, and a caricaturist who immersed himself into the colorful and theatrical Parisian life of the late 1800s. This led to Lautrec producing elegant and provocative images of the times. He is one of the best-known artists of the Post-Impressionist period. Early in life, Lautrec suffered from many ailments that affected his physical growth, so he concentrated on drawing and sketching. He died at the age of 37. During his short career, he created 737 canvased paintings, 275 watercolors, 363 prints and posters, 5,084 drawings, ceramic and stained-glass work, and an unknown number of lost works.
