This is an original WWII US Navy Identification & Recognition training model Kit. The kit contains 8 metal ship models mounted on individual removable wood shelves in a wooden transport case. On the exterior of the box near the rope handle reads "U.S Miniature Models Japanese Navy - SUP. #1". Manufactured during WWII specifically to assist both Naval personnel and aircrews to identify Japanese WWII ships from a distance. There were instances of attacks taking place on friendly war ships so with these models were used to help pilots and sailors become familiar with enemy vessels from a distance.

Note: This WW2 US Navy Miniature Training Model Kit is not in mint condition. Natural wear & tear to the models and case such as scrapes, chipping, and scruff. The latch to secure the box from opening is broken. Please contact us directly for more information regarding the condition of this item.
