During World War II, soldiers often created or modified their own equipment, including knives, for use in the field. These improvised or "theater-made" knives were crafted by soldiers using available materials, sometimes from captured enemy equipment or salvaged materials. These knives were often made out of necessity, as soldiers needed tools for various tasks, including cutting, opening ration tins, and other utility purposes.
