The Olympic Games were hosted in Montreal, Canada in 1976, the first time the country had ever hosted the event. The Royal Canadian Mint produced the 1976 Canadian $5 Silver Coin to commemorate the historical event. Here we have the 1976 Canadian Olympic 28-coin set, which each depicts a different Olympic event from the 1976 Games. The coins are evenly split into two denominations featuring 14, Five dollar denomination coins (.72 Troy oz silver) and 14 Ten dollar denomination coins (1.44 Troy oz. silver).

The obverse of this coin displays a young Queen Elizabeth II, with the words "ELIZABETH II CANADA 1974" inscribed beneath her. A Canadian maple leaf separates the inscriptions, appearing in the center of the bottom rim.
