This note is from the era where the US Government allowed thousands of banks to issue their own notes under the National Bank Acts of 1863 & 1864. They were produced on paper authorized by the Treasury and carried a standardized design. A brown seal and serial numbers are on the face, and the issuing bank name, in this case The Mechanics National Bank of Providence Rhode Island. Like all modern $10 bills, Alexander Hamilton is featured on the front.

Sold ungraded, inspect photo for condition. The pictured bill is the one you will receive. Ships in a protective plastic sleeve.
