This medal from 1883 was made to celebrate the sesquicentennial of the settlement of Georgia. The obverse depicts General James Oglethorpe and is inscribed “Gen. James Oglethorpe”. The reverse depicts a building with statues and a farmhouse in the background; it is inscribed “sesquicentennial of the settlement of Georgia”, “1733”, “1883”, with “constitution” inscribed on the image of the building.
