It was established by Walt Disney and his brother Roy as Walt Disney Productions in 1929 to consolidate their cartoon animation studio. It produced brief and full-length animated cartoons within the 1930s and 1940s, and at that point expanded within the 1950s to form nature documentaries and live-action movies as well as tv programs.
