The My Little Pony toy line and media franchise was developed by American company Hasbro. My Little Pony toys began production in 1981. The hallmarks of the toys were horses with colorful manes and unique symbols. My Little Pony's popularity spawned a feature-length film and two animated series, which aired until 1992. The brand has seen its ups and downs, but a fourth incarnation was launched in 2010. This fourth incarnation began with the animated series My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.
