Dowd has made a name for himself in the art world with his ultra realistic life-size sculptures showcasing the uniqueness of individuals. Dowd has the following to say about his unique style that at times borders on caricature "I like to illuminate the human condition in my work, to glorify or celebrate the individual uniqueness of each subject."
