About

Marvelously crafted ring top pendant from the Florida Marlins 2003 World Series victory. This diamond and precious stone studded pendant weighs approx. 45.2g and is fashioned from 14k white gold with yellow gold accents. The pendant contains a very rare teal diamond as the eye of the Marlin and 12 rubies making up the baseball's stitching. Measuring 1-1/4" x 1-1/2" it was manufactured by Intergold and includes the original presentation box. The pendant has an inscription on the back reading "Kristie Thank You! Love Sean."

The 2003 Florida Marlins were true underdogs, rallying back from a dismal start that saw the firing of manager Jeff Torborg to clinch the wild card spot. The Marlins defeated the Chicago Cubs in the 2003 NLCS which saw the infamous "Steve Bartman incident" where the fan prevented Moises Alou from catching a foul ball in Game 6. The World Series matchup was a David vs. Goliath event as the Marlins squad with a $54 million payroll faced the heavily favored New York Yankees and their $164 million payroll. Despite outscoring the Marlins 21-17, the Yankees lost the the 100th Anniversary of the World Series 4-2.
