Product Description

Wooton Signed Victorian 1874 Patent Antique Walnut & Burl Desk

An impressive piece of Victorian craftsmanship, Rick was planning on taking this for himself until the Old Man heard about it! The Wooton desk company was considered the premier manufacturer of desks in the mid 1800's and their clientele included John D. Rockefeller, Ulysses S. Grant, Joseph Pulitzer, and Charles Scribner. Reportedly, even Queen Victoria had
commissioned a desk for her regal correspondence.

This statesmanlike piece is built of solid walnut with matched burl panels and richly carved detailing. Glass and bakelite inkwells were added later and are signed Gardner, patented 1896. A tiny divided drawer and push buttons for bells to summon staff are signed "Peterson's Desk Companion" and carry an indistinct patent date "18??”
All embossed hardware is original and complete, however there is no key for the lock, please be aware the desk does require a bit of a stern push to close completely.

44" wide, 6' tall, 31" deep and the desktop is 30 1/2" high.

Comes w/ "Pawn Stars" Certificate of Authenticity Signed by Rick Harrison
