Product Description

1863 Sketch of Battles of Gettysburg

An incredible find this book is of the first published accounts of the Battle of Gettysburg and likely was issued even before Lincoln delivered his Gettysburg Address. Published within mere months of the battle, it features a rare 1863 chromolithographic map of the "Field of Gettysburg." The book contains 24 pages of first hand accounts of the battle from those who witnessed it personally.

This book is regarded as the first separately published work to document the battle. Many of these books had the map detached and sold separately. In fact, one of these detached maps was recently sold by Sotheby's for $11,000!

Book is the first edition and is in very good condition for its age, however there is a ink stain on the back and a very small stress tear on the map where it folds out from the book. Map is still attached to the book and is in great condition with no other holes or tears. Book measures 7 1/4" by 5."

Comes with "As Seen on Pawn Stars" Certificate of Authenticity and cast signed photo.
