As Seen on “Pawn Stars” a Flemish antique crossbow made between 1680-1740. This item is in beautiful condition and rare as it includes the original pull lever used to arm the weapon. Item includes “As Seen on Pawn Stars” COA signed by Rick Harrison certifying this was the item featured on the show. As noted in the “Pawn Stars” episode a few of the parts on this item are from the 20th century.
Crossbows were a great leap forward in military technology, prior to their invention ranged warfare was dominated by the archer armed with a bow and arrow. Problem was, it would take years of training to create a capable archer, and it required a good deal of strength and dexterity to be effective. The crossbow was far simpler to use and master, allowing nations to raise large forces of conscript crossbowmen with very little time and investment.
